storm attacks! georgia prepares for state of emergency!

let me set the scene last night at the grocery store:  a sixty year old lady pushing a grocery cart with three weeks worth of water in it.  i'm hearing at the big box store's shelves are literally cleared of all the staples.  schools are certainly closed tomorrow, if not Tuesday as well.  the busiest flight traffic corridor in the world—atlanta int’l—will come to a hush as four inches of almost instantly melting snow will dust the state of georgia overnight.  the mayans were right.  the world is ending.  only difference is, it’s tonight in north georgia, and it came a year early.  

I mean, no offense georgia, it is definitely snowing outside, as the hood of my truck can testify, it's just, well, I come from jersey.  one time, I spent a week in the same clothes at my buddy’s house during a storm that locked the whole state indoors.  knowing that all things are relative, and having already mocked by southern friend’s anticipation of this storm enough, the storm actually could be a concern for our animals. the low temperatures and ice expected overnight could pose potentially fatal for some of our youngest residents over at pork chop hill. 

to ensure the herd's comfort, I joined the ivys in an effort to construct some protection from the elements for our young herd. 

without spending a single penny, we used sheets of unused roofing from an old end-of-the world bunker, rusty bolts and nuts, and decade old hay from an outdated barn to put together some pretty sweet digs for the pigs.  it was noticeably warmer underneath the hut, and their reaction was nothing short of frolicking.  check out the footage:
